After the fairly successful reboot of Valiant Comics in 2012, the label is now trying to establish its somewhat rougher superheroes on the big screen alongside the box office giants Marvel and DC. Bloodshot, a character created in 1992, relatively shortly after the company was founded by Jim Shooter (former Chief Editor at Marvel) and Steven Massarsky, made its debut, is one of the label’s most successful figures. Together with those of the Harbinger comic book series, they wanted to pave the way for a new cinematic universe. It remains to be seen whether all of this can still go ahead as planned. Because the rights for the Harbinger films that were originally planned recently went to Paramount. It is well known that competing studios for superhero films are not the optimal solution, as has been proven several times in the past. So whether or not you’re hoping for a sequel or even a whole new universe after Bloodshot, director David Wilson’s film is more entertaining than you think, at least for the moment.
