Sinister 2

Never again should the demon Bughuul wreak his havoc and cruelly murder innocent families, that is the resolution of So & So ( James Ransone ). To achieve this goal, the ex-cop travels the country, burning down every house connected to the massacres. To his great surprise, one of these houses is inhabited: Courtney Collins ( Shannyn Sossamon ) has sought refuge from her violent husband with her two sons Dylan ( Robert Sloan ) and Zach ( Dartanian Sloan ). And not only that: the family seems to have already chosen Bughuul as the next victim, and the cruel curse has long since started all over again.

In terms of content and atmosphere, “Sinister 2” takes a different path than the recommendable predecessor: this time the children are in the foreground, and instead of mysteries, jump scares are the order of the day. The latter, however, is used in such an inflationary and uniform manner that they quickly lose their effect, and even the attempt at psychologization does not work properly.
